Who is responsible
This site is operated by the publisher of Medical Tourism Cost, who is the data controller for the limited processing described below and can be reached ateditor@medicaltourismcost.com. Where the law requires the controller's identity in a specific matter, it is provided on request to that address.
What we collect
- Nothing that identifies you, by default. There is no account, no login, no newsletter and no enquiry form that reaches a third party.
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 records aggregate usage — pages viewed, approximate location by country, device type, referrer — with IP anonymisation enabled. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
- Advertising, only with your consent. Where advertising is enabled, an ad network may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. Without consent, ads may still be served in a non-personalised form as permitted by law; the choice is recorded and respected.
- A local preference. Your currency choice and your consent decision are stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are not personal data we can read.
- Email you send us. If you write to us, we hold the message to reply and to log corrections.
Legal basis
Consent for analytics and advertising cookies, under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and the equivalent EU rules. Legitimate interest for handling email you choose to send us. You can withdraw consent at any time — see cookies.
Who processes data
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery. Processes request data including IP address to serve and protect the site.
- Google — analytics and, where enabled, advertising, only after consent.
These providers may process data outside the UK and EEA under the safeguards set out in their own terms.
Retention
Analytics data is retained for the period configured in Google Analytics and is aggregate rather than identifying. Email correspondence is kept while it is relevant to a correction or an ongoing conversation.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests are answered quickly. Write to editor@medicaltourismcost.com. In the UK you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, to your national supervisory authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
